Robert B. Smith, RGD

Robert Smith is a respected author, creativity professor and a founding member of the RGD (Registered Graphic Designers). He has presented and facilitated events including: national and in-house design conferences such as Design Thinkers and the RGD In-House Design Conference. He has also presented for Creative Mornings, Algonquin College, St. Lawrence College, Costco and The Royal Canadian Mint. During his more than 25 years in the industry and as owner of Greenmelon, his clients have included the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Warner Brothers, DC Comics and Farm Boy. He is the author of The Frankenstein Condition and Stop Looking for Zebras, his soon to be published exploration of the creative process in the communications industry. 

Technology free.

No smartphones, laptops or tablets. In order to develop stronger problem-solving skills you will be using the “pens and pencils before pixels” technique. Notebooks and pens will be provided, as well as brief “technology breaks” between sessions and during lunch.

A free shuttle bus from and to the Brookstreet Hotel is available for those who require transportation.

Lunch is provided with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. Beverages and snacks will be available all day.

Because this is a technology-free retreat, a special notebook and pencils will be provided.
